Never Have I Ever Questions For Adults

Adult experiences

About these for adults statements

The adult set trades on the specific comedy of adult life — jobs, travel that went wrong, furniture assembled incorrectly, food ordered out of pure optimism. It is written for a group that can laugh at itself without anyone needing to reveal something they will regret on Monday, so the statements stay on stories people volunteer at dinner rather than secrets.

Best for: Dinner parties, house-warmings, hen and stag weekends, work socials, and holidays with friends.

  • Drinks optional. The finger-counting version keeps everyone in the game for longer.
  • Agree up front that any statement can be skipped without a reason given.

How to Play Never Have I Ever

Never Have I Ever is a confession game with a scoreboard made of fingers. Someone reads a statement beginning "Never have I ever…"; anyone who has done the thing loses a finger. The last player with a finger still up wins, and the stories that come out along the way are the actual point.

The rules

  1. Everyone holds up ten fingers — or five for a faster round.
  2. Take turns reading a statement out loud, starting "Never have I ever…".
  3. Anyone who has done it puts one finger down.
  4. Ask for the story behind any interesting admission, but never insist.
  5. Play until one player is left with a finger up, or until you run out of statements.

Ways to change it up

  • Written round. Everyone marks a sheet privately, then compare totals. Good for large groups and classrooms.
  • Points version. Score a point for every statement you have not done. Highest total wins, so nobody is eliminated early.
  • Two truths. After each admission the player gives one detail. Guess whether the detail is true for a bonus point.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many statements are on this page?

55, all listed in full on this page — nothing is hidden behind a button or a sign-up.

How do you win Never Have I Ever?

Everyone starts with ten fingers up and puts one down each time a statement applies to them. The last player with a finger still raised wins. For a shorter game start with five fingers instead.

Can you play without drinking?

Yes, and the finger-counting version is the original. It also keeps everyone in the game for longer, which is why it is the better choice for mixed-age groups, classrooms and work events.

Is anything on this list explicit?

No. This set is written for adult groups and assumes adult experiences, but nothing on it is graphic. If you need a version safe for all ages, use the clean list instead.

Is this list free to use?

Yes. Every prompt on this page is free to read, play from, print, or read aloud at an event. There is no account, no paywall and no download required — the full list is on this page.

How are these prompts checked?

Every prompt is reviewed by a person before it is published, and each one is tagged with the audiences it is suitable for. Anything that does not fit its rating gets corrected. You can report a prompt from the link at the bottom of any card.
